Short Summary

I am an ex IBMer of thirty one years experience. During that time I was either a Line Manager, a Business & Marketing Manager or a Business Consultant working with, and selling to, IBM Customers. As a Certified IT Business consultant I worked for ten years with fifty five of IBM’s top clients as a DataCentre Management Consultant. I was responsible for closing deals as well as delivering them to total value approx £4m. For a number of years I also managed a team of 25 consultants delivering approximately £5M pa.  For the last eight years I have been building and managing business systems for IBM Directors.  I won an award for establishing and running the best Intellectual Capital Management Deployment Programme in IBM Europe aimed at driving GP, Market share and Client Satisfaction. The programme drove an additional £2M pf profit in the first year.  

A major management system that I developed and managed for three IBM Directors was rated by Gartner as ‘best of breed’. This management methodology linked the sales, delivery and business-management functions of a $500M pa. business supporting 2,000 staff and produced very high accuracy forecasts for quarter revenues and consolidated action plans to achieve. A key component was the detailed tracking of every lead through the sales cycle and the tight monitoring of all the actions leading to closure, on into delivery and billing. 

I have extensive experience of organizing and running seminars and training sessions. I built three 1-day seminars myself and presented these solo to over of six hundred IBM client managers and executives each of whom paid £350 for the privilege. My feedback ratings were excellent.  I also presented seminars on IT Management subjects to top European clients at prestigious IBM client events in Lausanne and Cannes and got the highest ratings for these.  I also built and ran numerous IBM Internal courses including 5 day residential sessions on Project Managenent,  In total over 1,000 staff attended my courses.  

My most recent work was part of team building 5 year strategy for IBM ITS Services Business UK .
